  • Redish / S50 familiarity

Just an FYI post - I have been in dialogue with Redish this week as I know they look after a few other's M Coupe's in the south. I have always used Munich Legends and found them to be fine to deal with but I'm always open to trying others so thought I'd speak to Redish about having a trundle over there & getting them to do a few jobs on my Coupe.

However they have said that they're not particularly comfortable working on the S50 engine - they're more au-fait with the S54. Simon the guy on reception was very helpful and he did speak with James Redish about who he would recommend - but apparently they don't really know of any company that is S50 familiar so didn't really give me much of a suggestion other than to continue working with Munich Legends.

I guess that makes life easy for me - at least I know where to head to if/when I need any asisstance!

So just a heads up I guess - if anyone else in the South knows of a good specialist, then I'm all ears!

Seems weird they don’t work on the S50? Any garage I’ve ever been to have welcomed the car with open arms, it’s just an engine after all and they are car mechanics

I think although they do work on a lot different M engines they tend to specialise in E46 M3 cars hence S54 engines and if you look on there site the lead time for getting work done is quite long. Also they are renown for the boot floor reinforcement kits to repair cracked areas on the E46 cars. I came across Redish on M3 Cutters site they have a great reputation although they can be expensive.

If you need anything specialist, CPC in Amersham know their stuff.

Lol Manchester a bit far to travel - Amersham though is interesting, especially as a friend lives in Rickmansworth so I can always tie in with a visit up there....

Have you tried BMR Performance? Barry one of the owners there is a very knowledgable guy. I usually drop cars on rotation
there and have always had great service from them.
              .
CPC on the other hand I’ve not had a good experience so I’d personally never go back there.

Ah I recall driving past BMR on my way back from Munich Legends.

OK and interesting feedback on CPC.
