  • Rear ABS Ring size???

    Hi

    MOT due next week!

Instead of the big BMW driveshaft bill I'm wanting to try a new ABS ring on my coupe (why not)

Has anyone done this? I'm after the internal and external diameter plus the amount of teeth. Online information is a extremely vague, presume the M version is larger than the standard Z cars.

Is anyone has a spare driveshaft would be easy the measure and count!

    Cheers Paul

Yes mate i have, they advised getting more than one size to try on the day its striped down or measure in advance. Eg e36 M and e46 M type. They have no information on Z3M!

Might be worth getting in touch with zedshed team on zroadster.org to see if they’ve got a driveshaft to measure? https://zroadster.org/forums/zedshed-hq.109/

Why are you looking to replace it? Long shot but if it is still intact but has just rusted and bulged, wearing the speed sensor etc (has this on my old E46 touring), you can shim the ABS sensor so it sits further out.... I did this and it worked fine for at least 5yrs (70K miles) that I kept it for.
