Anybody know part numbers etc. for the speedo impulse wheel that's inside the rear diff casing? Can't find it anywhere on RealOEM, but as ever it's knowing where to look helps.

The actual wheel itself won't be available from BMW separatley - no diff parts are anymore, if they ever were, beyond what is on realoem like the fittings on the outside like the sensor, gasket, output seals etc.

Ah, but they are available, at least in America (and are sourced from Germany). I order the Z3/E30-36 ones all the time.
First of all, there are (at least) two (>2) different sizes; the ///M Coupe/Rdstr wheel on the left, and the smaller diameter Z3/E30-36 version on the right:
The smaller wheel can be used in conjunction with the deeper, finned ///M cover, but it won't register unless you use the pulse generator from the Z3/E30-36; pt. no. 62 16 8 357 020. This device has a blue/white housing, as opposed to the black/white as fitted to the ///M Coupe/Rdstr.
I do have the part numbers for both of these impulse wheels, but the larger ones (ordered in error) are in the attic of my shop and not readily available; E-mail me in desperation if you really need iterandyforbes "at" aol.com Obviously, replace the "at" with @
The smaller impulse wheel is needed when I convert and reinforce the ///M Coupe/Rdstr to fit the E-36 pattern dual mount differential cover.

Edit: in the "where to look" department, these part numbers were gained when I had someone look them up with the old__E30 era__micro-fiche parts catalog system. If you know of anyone that still has it, collecting dust somewhere, it's a treasure trove!
I'd think that BMW Tradition, with its emphasis on restoration, would have converted these files to the modern EPC...
