  • Tyre size for 18 inch wheels

    Hi folks

    i have finally rebuilt a set of bbs split rims that measure 8.5 x 18 and 10 x 18.

What are the best sized tyres for these wheels as I want to ensure there are no fouling of the front arches etc and retain some similar rolling radius for my Speedo etc

    thanks
    R

Width will depend on the wheel offsets

      Offsets are
      35 front
      25 rear

Hopefully someone running 18's with similar offsets will reply but the norm for 18's is 235 up front and 265/275 rears (bigger will fit depending on particular tyres type)

          Thanks Dave.
          The apex site suggests :

          Front: 18x8.5" ET35 or ET38 with 235/40-18 tires
          Rear: 18x10" ET25 with 275/35-18 tires

One thing to watch out for is the difference between tyre types as I recently found out when swapping from Falken 452's to Michelin ps4s's , the Falkens are a narrow small tyre and the Michelins much bigger although both the same stated sizes.
